Dear Voters,
I am honored and humbled to be the Republican nominee for the 34th District seat in the California Assembly. Thank you for your support in Tuesday's election. As we move forward into November's general election, your support and our communication remain very important to me.
My priorities include:
1. Cutting taxes and balancing the state's budget by ending wasteful spending.
2. Protecting our communities and punishing criminals.
3. Offering common sense approaches to our problems.
4. Promoting our economy by removing senseless regulations on business.
5. Protecting our future by ensuring high-quality schools.
6. Making our lives less complicated by government.
I believe in hard work. As your representative in the Assembly, I would strive to make state government more effective, more efficient, and more helpful.
I am a problem-solver. We need more accountability and more transparency in Sacramento. We need not only more answers but better answers.
Every member of the Assembly is charged with making important decisions about our state's future, but they also have an important responsibility to ensure that our system works. When you need help with a state agency or program, you should receive accurate and timely assistance. When you have a complaint with the state, it should addressed quickly. And when you have an opinion, it should be considered fairly.
In seven years as a Tulare County supervisor, I have worked every day toward these goals. As chairman of the board in 2005, I introduced a sweeping plan to rethink and reorganize county government at every level through an innovative business plan. This year, again as chairman, I am trying to put the concept of "service" back into our government offices. I will continue to work hard in this job every day.
